SWAN HILL TOUR 12 to 13 March, 2022

Welcome to all prospective entrants.

This event will be run as a Touring Road Event. Saturday will consist of a very low key tour across the border into NSW . There will be no timing or even an official starting time, the only constraint will be that you will have to arrive at the lunch spot within a prescribed time window.

The plan is simply to enjoy the drive and the map reading, you are free to use any aids that you want to, yes we will have some cleansheets but we can sort out the placings on the following day. We would be happy for you to use your tow car on this day, easier for you and less of an impact on the local residents.

Sunday will consist of Closed Road Sections and Autocross runs at the Swan Hill Motorsport Complex. We are looking at runs on the Speedway as well.

You will need to stay overnight on the Friday but won’t be a late finish on the Sunday so you get home at a reasonable time.

Lunch on Saturday is included in the entry fee.

You don’t need a rally car for this event, just basic safety gear.

Graham Wallis
Clerk of Course

Competition Report – January 2022

Alan Upton and Michael Ward, Peugeot 306, at Boisdale Rallysprint.

Boisdale Rallysprint 22 January 2022

Graham Wallis and his crew of great volunteers put on an interesting event to open the competition for this year. Crews had 3 runs over each of 2 different stages using the MADCC hill climb circuit to start both stages and then different arrangements of tracks out in the back of the reserve. The hill climb was slippery to start with but improved a little by day’s end whilst the back tracks were tight and twisty to keep everyone concentrating.

December Competition Report

Gippsland Rally

The last round of the VRC, VCRS and VSRS was very well organised and very well received by all the people I spoke to during and after the event. Competitors all seemed to enjoy the roads which were in great condition and by the end of the event had black rubber tell-tale signs of some seriously quick cars flying down them. The Club supplied all the officials for stages 3 & 7 as well as officials on other stages and also the preceding days.

Boisdale Rallysprint, Saturday 22 January

Supplementary Regulations

Update, 6 January 2022:
Supplementary Regulations, entry form and MA Declaration are now available for the Boisdale Rallysprint:

Plans for the the Boisdale Rallysprint on Saturday 22 January are well advanced.

Conducted at the Boisdale Hillclimb track to the north of Maffra, the course will consist of the hillclimb track plus some forest tracks at the back of the property.

The venue has been granted an S1 licence by Motorsport Australia which means that full prepared rally cars won’t be needed, but of course are welcome.

The event is open to non turbo 2wd drive cars. There will be at least 6 runs, all of which will count towards outright placings.

Supp Regs are with Motorsport Australia and we hope to be able to start accepting entries at the beginning of January.

Graham Wallis is the Clerk of Course and Liz Partington is the event secretary, she can be contacted on lizlisa@tpg.com.au if you have any queries.

Supp regs will be posted on the HRA website as soon as they are available. In the meantime, block out Saturday 22 January, 2022 in your Calendars!

PCR test for December HRA Meeting attendees

All those present at the December HRA meeting are advised to have a PCR test for COVID19. Isolate from now, until you gain a negative test result.

Many attendees have already received an SMS from the Victorian Department of Health requiring them to “get tested within 24 hours and isolate until you receive a negative result.”

But we know of some that were at the meeting that have not received such an SMS. Hence this notice.
