Following in the footsteps of the 2023 Tour of the 1984 George Derrick Memorial Trial, you’re invited to the
2024 Tour of 1987 High Country Trial, to be held on 3, 4 & 5 May 2024.
The 1987 High Country Trial (HCT) was another of the epic Victorian trial events from the 1980’s. And as with the GDT, the Tour of the HCT will cover great country, terrific roads, have wonderful scenery, lots of chatting, reminiscing, and good company.

But you must be quick as we have limited placings. The Supp Regs are available below and we know places will fill quickly.
As the Event Secretary, I know you won’t take any convincing to join us on this wonderful adventure, therefore I would appreciate a prompt response, to confirm your entry. Email me at tom@gasflues.com.au
Attached are the Supp Regulations, including an outline of the event, accommodation suggestions and lunch pack ordering sheet.
See you on the HCT.
Cheers
Tom

A classic high country ridge road.
The old realignment of the Great Alpine Road that was used in the High Country Trial 1987 and prior to that in the 1975 Alpine (not counting Geoff Portman’s use of it as a test track when stationed at Swifts Creek as a forester).
A wet Lake Omeo at Benambra. In 1987 we traveled on 5.5 kms of “tracks” across the dry lake with 5 “turns” usually involving arrows hammered into the dry mud.

In 1987 we travelled down and around the right edge of this lovely little lake Black Sallee out of Hotham. Today the track stays higher but noted as a potential future camp site!
